5 Techniques to Reduce Stress and Aid Relaxation

July 19th, 2008 by Mary | Filed under Relax.

Stress makes us feel tense and upset. Because we spend so much of our time at work or trying to get to and from it, it is likely that daily stress is a work-related thing. I want to share 4 techniques that help me survive.Morf Stress Squeeze Balls

1. When I am stressed at work I use a “stress ball”, which I squeeze. I actually call it a “squeeze ball“. I bought my online, but I have seen some in the supplement stores.

2. Another great way to relieve stress is by stretching. I mostly stretch my neck muscles by moving my head and my shoulders.

3. In order to stay calm when in stress, we must provide the brain with a lot of oxygen. Usually, stressed-out people tend to hold their breath, or their breath becomes very shallow. So, to help myself I have learned to breath deeply from the abdomen. This is how I do it: I am starting by becoming aware of my breathing. I place my hand on my stomach below the rib cage and breath in slowly through the nose, count till three, and breath out through my mouth. I feel how air is entering and leaving my lungs. Deep breathing has become a part of my daily routine. I do it every morning before starting my car.

4. Visualization is something that I am trying. I try to imagine a garden or a house. I think about all the details I want it to have: flowers or chairs. For me, visualization works when I go to sleep and can not take my mind away from worrying.

5. This one I forgot, so please send me your advice on how to relax fast.

I hope my post has helped you to relax. Please leave some comments, and let me know how you reduce stress and improve your mood while at work.
