Mediterranean diet secrets

January 27th, 2010 by Mary | No Comments | Filed in Diet and Weight Loss

The Mediterranean diet is not only wildly popular around the world but also considered to be one of the most healthful diets of all that have received in-depth research attention.

The researchers teased out the contribution of the nine dominant components of the traditional Mediterranean diet that account for the lower mortality. In descending order of importance, the components are: moderate consumption of alcohol (primarily wine), low consumption of meat and meat products, high consumption of vegetables, high consumption of fruits and nuts, high consumption of oil (mostly olive oil) and high consumption of legumes (e.g., beans, lentils).

Anti-Aging Diet: Colorful Foods Recommended

December 2nd, 2009 by Mary | No Comments | Filed in Diet and Weight Loss

Recently, nutritionists started to develop eating plans based on color.  By incorporating foods in a variety of colors into our diets, we can give our bodies the vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients they need to fight the free-radicals and inflammation that damage cells and cause premature aging.

Red and Orange: These colors are considered energy boosters. In fact, the pigments that produce the varying shades of orange and red are partially what make healthy foods so healthful. They are called lycopene and beta-carotene. These pigments function as a powerful antioxidants.

Yellow: Best examples are butternut squash, mangos, peaches, sweet corn and pineapple. I especially love pineapple. In addition to being an excellent source of vitamin C, pineapple contains bromelain. This enzyme aids in digestion and helps to decrease inflammation, which in turn fights sagging skin, wrinkles, and the loss of muscle mass.

Green: Chlorella, spirulina, aloe vera, broccoli, and wheat grass are amazing anti-agers. They are the major building blocks for skin-, hair-, and nails-cells.

Blue: Studies have shown that the color blue, like in blueberries, can be an appetite suppressant. In addition to blueberries,  blue foods includes blue corn, blue plums, blue grapes, and blue potatoes. The compound that gives blue foods their characteristic blue color, anthocyanin, is a powerful antioxidant that protects neurons, cells in the brain and nervous system.

Brown: Brown foods include walnuts, beans, oatmeal, whole grain bread, and spices cinnamon and nutmeg. These foods are good for digestion and have the ability to help regulate blood glucose levels by stimulating insulin receptors.

Colorless: Water is one of the best things you can put into your body. Its ability to help keep our bodies healthy and our skin youthful has been well-documented.Now's Green Phyto Foods 2Lb

How to Get Rid of Bad Breath?

November 22nd, 2009 by Mary | No Comments | Filed in Diet and Weight Loss

Bad breath is also know as halitosis. Halitosis can be caused by the foods with the strong odor,  digestion disorders, gum problems, and an overpopulation of food particles that get trapped in the mouth.

Of cause, a colon cleansing should be the first step to the fresher breath. If you use Ultimate Colon Cleanse, then you will need to take it for 2 or 3 months to remove toxic waste matter which may have been stuck in the folds and wrinkles of your digestive system for years.

Everyone knows that toothpaste, mints, chewing gums, and mouth washes can help to temporary freshen your breath, but not everyone knows that a yogurt can also fight bad breath. Japanese microbiologists conducted a study that proved that the active bacteria in yogurt attack the bad-breath-causing bacteria that live on the tongue.  All you need to do is eat twice a day three-ounce serving of sugar-free yogurt.

If you need a quick fix in the office, get yourself Myra® Oral Rinse Mouthwash. It is a natural herbal remedy that contains 12 essential oils and herbs like Aloe Vera,Tea Tree Oil, Vitamin C, Calendula Extract, Echinacea Root Extract, Goldenseal Root Extract, Rhattany Root Extract, Witch Hazel Extract and more!
Just dilute a drop in water for a refreshing mouthwash and healthier gums.

Or if you are running late to an important meeting, chew your way to fresh breath and whiter teeth with Supersmile Professional Whitening Gum .This all natural gum is actually good for you, because it is packed with active ingredient Calprox, which promotes healthy gums, removes stains and freshens your breath.
