Low-Carb Diet Beats Low-Fat Diet: Try Egg Diet

April 6th, 2009 by Mary | Filed under Diet and Weight Loss.

Today I have found this video about the long term study into three different diets. The results were unbelievable, see for yourself:

Easter is coming up and it is clear that there will be many eggs left over. So, I decided to review The Egg Diet for you:

The Egg Diet is a variant of the Atkins diet. Like the Atkins diet, the Egg Diet is a high-protein, low-carbohydrate diet. To understand how an Egg Diet works, read on.

Our bodies burn a very simple kind of sugar called “Glucose” and not fat. You hear the phrase “burning fat” all the time, but it is simply not scientifically correct. While your body does have the ability to convert stored fat into Glucose for fuel, it cannot actually burn fat directly.

If you eat high-protein, low-carbohydrate foods, your digestive system cannot produce enough Glucose for your body to burn. Therefore, it has no choice but to convert the fat stored around your waist back into Glucose. The nice thing about this is that the amount of food isn’t all that important just so long as the total grams of carbohydrate is kept down. Now that you know how the Egg Diet works, you can put it into practice.

I wish you all a most joyous Easter holiday,

Mary
